I know I havent blogged recently.  Have had a busy sad time as we said goodbye to Auntie.  She passed away 13th April after a few months illness at the grand old age of 87.  I couldnt help passing on this link for Jenny's giveaway.  Auntie always said when we visited, Make yourself a cup of tea.  Memories.

A winter day

It was cold....I wanted to make something.....I didnt want to fuss with measuring...I had these scraps of soft flannel. Sooooo......I sewed and snipped and sewed and snipped.   I didnt even change the thread in the machine...it was black.  I had a satisfying little time to myself, and made a....... 

CUSHION

It is lovely and cosy.  Not a work of art, but cosy.  Satisfied? YES.

Quilt Festival

I have just booked to visit the International Quilt Festival of Ireland........excited.
My local quilt shop The Cotton Shed is taking a group for 3 days to the Festival at Galway University campus.  Cant wait. 

January too

I forgot to say about this.  I was able to wash my Christmas throw and put it out in the fresh air to dry.  This is an almost impossible thing for this time of year usually. However I did have to finish it off indoors, and it smells so fresh...mmmmh!  I love things dried outside.

January

The first of January I took a walk in my favourite park after an inspiring church service. It was beautiful as usual, but in a middle of winter way.  Why does Blogger do that to my photos.  I had it upright, but it imported lying on its side.

I did a little Practical sewing this week for a friend who needed 3 bags to store church offerings in before they are counted and banked.

I had a little play with a windmill block which I hand sewed.  It's ok, but I think I need practice.

Of course, like many others, I put away the Christmas decorations.  This is one of my favourites. A little lamp which was a gift from some good friends a few years ago.  I would nearly be tempted to keep it out.  It is so cute.  However, I look forward to enjoying it next year,

I have so many things I would like to start, never mind the things I should finish.  Lets just see how my year pans out.  love to all, Bx

Happy New Year 2012

Just a pic of my Pond House BOM so you know I am doing some stitching.  It will be a year in February since I started it, and I have come slowly to a halt.  My NY resolution is to get going again and have something to show you all soon.
